This little thing cost so little, but it did it's job perfectly. It is better quality than the one I got with my sound board that broke within 1 hour. This also has a gold plated tip for better connection.Every item I have ever purchased from Amazon has been 100%. Never a need for RMA.
Beautiful. Naturally I instantly ordered a pair of these adapters to connect to an optical cable I already owned. Having discovered that the 3.5mm audio out port also supports digital optical was a wonderful revolution. Now I can get 5.1 soundtracks while watching DVDs or ripped content on my mac. It arrived very quickly in good condition. Just as advertised, I simply snapped them onto the end of an optical cable and plugged it into my computer. P.S. Price is great too.
There were couple other options that did the same thing, but I decided on this as it isn't too cheap (I get suspicious sometimes) nor too expensive.Once I received it, I plugged it into my Mac and worked right away. I was looking for a cheap way to connect my MacBook Pro to my Logitech Z5500 via Toslink. Since the Mac only comes with Mini Toslink I went looking around for options.Since I had a Toslink cable lying around I started looking for Mini Toslink to Toslink adaptor. It fits snugly onto the Toslink cable end so it would not come off easily.I recommend this product. Especially if you're using a Mac and need to have a Toslink output.
Plugged this in from my apple imac headphone jack to my Logitech Z-5500 optical out. The adapter works as described and connects to a optical cable fine.
This works great with my laptops SPDIF in and out ports that require such a link. Nothing special about the product. It does its job plain and simple.
